Ethical discussion on the botting/duping explosion

The preparation for Mists of Panderia series of posts have not stopped. I am currently working on the next
part of the series. The previous two parts are available below and look for part three soon™.
Mists of Panderia Preparation Pt1 - Enchanting
Mists of Panderia Preparation Pt2 - Space Management

Today though, I wanted to discuss another dilemma we are facing while making end of expansion gold
and preparing for Mists – Gold seller activity is expanding greatly. If it hasn’t hit your smaller server yet, it
will
, up until a few days ago I noticed no increased suspicious activity and now out of no where you can’t
use the AH or stand in Stormwind/Orgrimmar without being bombarded by players breaking the Terms of
Service. I want to start by stating I would never condone using methods to break the ToS or buying
gold from these services – This post is meant to stir discussion about how to deal with their presence.

Mists of Panderia Preparation Pt2 - Space Management

Return of the completely unrelated screenshot :)

This post is part of a series:
Part 1 - Enchanting (Covers the prime leveling enchants and materials to look for)

I know my last post in the series promised more crafts to sale to the new pandas/monks/whatever. I just find this to be much more important for any player but especially for someone wanting to maximize gold during the first part of Mists so bare with me. As Mists approaches you will probably be faced with the dilemma of transitioning from the every day grind and routine to re-utilizing space to prepare for the expansion. We don't all have ten characters half of which are just slaves to the gold making empire each with their own guild bank so having a game plan is good.

Mists of Panderia Preparation Pt1 - Enchanting

Today's post is the first in a series of posts I have brainstormed on possible ways you can prepare for Mists of Panderia so you can cash in on all the new pandas, monks, and people that just generally come back for start-of-expansion. I will attempt to cover all of the heirloom enchants; those enchants that best fit heirloom items or "twink bracket" no level requirement enchants for those slots without heirlooms.

Scroll of Resurrection Thoughts

No cool MSPaint or screencap picture today, just straight to the point posting.

Blizzard recently changed the Scroll of Resurrection program and it has changed a lot of talking among the playerbase just like all major changes do. If you don't remember the SoR (as I'll refer to it from here out) program it meant you could send an email referral to someone to reactivate their account. They got some free time to play and if they ended up paying for a full month you also got a month free. The program went offline some time ago with no announcement why - until now.

Predictions for 2012; Why I didn’t stockpile Holiday Pets/Mounts

Got tired of purple..plus the sword sheaths to the back :)

In order to discuss selling mounts and especially pets for MoP you have to first discuss the release
schedule for big 2012 titles. Most people wanting to get the most out of their investment have to sale
at exactly the right time. A few of us had a small conversation about this during one of Jim’s livestreams the other day, with a few opinions on release schedule and when the best times to sale will
be.

Transmog Weapon List

My whore...I mean Weapon Seller...Yea

No one that I follow on Twitter has made a weapon list for transmog yet so I am taking it upon myself to start one. By no means is this a complete list and I'll be editing this page as I feel it warranted to do so.

My own set of "rules" or boundaries for the list are as follows:
  1. Weapon sales are slow. Even the "top tier" BoE weapons tend to rot a bit on the AH. For that reason, I will try to only list items I know have solid sales records with myself and others.
  2. I do not sale Wands, Daggers, Guns, Fist weapons, or [Cross]Bows. Fists just aren't used, Wands aren't seen yet, Guns/Bows are bland and super slow sellers, and the hand-restrictions on Daggers make them frustrating to use for Transmog.
  3. I provide no solid tier pricing. Since weapons are much harder sales than armor I will assume those that dig into it enough to search and sale weapons have a good feel for their server's transmog market. I do however sort the weapons in a "Tier" order with the best on top.

My Favorite Item (a JCing post..how original)

My professional artist duplication of a Frozen Orb. Like a Boss.

Yes, the Frozen Orb is probably my favorite item, at least in gold making. These were the "Primal Nether" of WOTLK dropping from bosses in heroic dungeons. Now-a-days they typically spend their days with dozens of their cousins and odd uncles rotting in the AH for single digit gold prices. It really is a shame given that these little guys carry so much potential that seems to be untapped on the few servers I've seen...

2012 is here!

I just thought, my last picture could almost pass as
Poseidus..maybe..lol

21 days ago, yes. I want to start my second wall of text post with a little explanation in case someone was wondering why I wrote a blog semi-actively for two months before telling a soul. Simply, I started this blog as a way to spit out one take no editing thoughts I have about WoW and gold making and I wanted to make sure of a few things before it was "judged" per say. I'm no good at this and I wanted to make sure I could set myself to make meaningful posts at least every two weeks with no pressure to do so. My thoughts are that instantly throwing the blog out into people's hands before I knew I could or would do anything was setting myself up for failure. I'm confident that at least someone may get some enjoyment out of my writing and if I'm lucky I might spit out some advice that is good along the way too. Read on for my 2012 plans...

2011 turns into 2012

Oh yes. Stock aquatic picture has nothing to do with WoW.

I have been thinking the last few days about how I did not do any reflective post about 2011 or anything about moving along in 2012. Better take care of at least one of them! 2011 was probably my biggest year in WoW and one of my biggest years all together (Hint: I got married). Get ready for a wall of text post.
